Try these melt in your mouth raw protein date squares, they are sweet, jammy and nutrient packed. Pre-post-workout fuelling or perfect for a mid-avo pick me up snack. They are super easy to make and far better than something you can buy as it has no added sugar or preservatives. Happy munching!

TIME: 15min

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups pitted dates (approx. 300 gm)
  • 1 cup pistachios
  • 1 cup cashews (or nuts of choice, macadamia, pine nuts, sunflower seeds also work well)
  • ¼ cup organic cocoa nibs
  • 2 squares dark chocolate 85%+ chopped
  • 50 grams chocolate protein powder
  • 3 tbs of water

HOW:

  • Place all ingredients except water in food processor
  • Mix in a bowl, add the water one tbs at the time as you mix, allow the mixture together (if it’s too dry add more water but be patient it takes time to come together) you know it is right when it starts to get a nice shiny colour
  • Place on a tray and push down with your fingers (you can line with parchment paper or rub with coconut oil)
  • Refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight
  • Cut into 40gm squares
